Spring Tech Workshop: The Director/Stage Manager's Process (Code 111)
with Heather and Em
Class Times: Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm
Meeting Dates: 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14
Grades: 8th-12th
Location: SPARC
The Director and Stage Manager relationship is a unique collaborative process that most youth do not get to experience before starting their pre-professional careers; it is also integral to the success of a production! How does a show go from page to stage? What decisions are shared by the team? What does each role do? How does a design element reflect in the overall vision of the show? Where does a Stage Manager flex their choreography (scene change) skills?
In the Director/Stage Manager's Process, students will spend 4 weeks working on group scenes in which they will share the roles of director, stage manager, and scene readers/actors. This workshop will focus on one published work that participants work to bring to life.
Youth interested in getting involved with Stage Management or New Vocies for the Theatre at SPARC are encouraged to join us for this workshop.
