Broadway Blast at SPARC (Code 127)

July 10 – July 21, 2023 in-person at SPARC (2106 N. Hamilton Richmond VA 23230)
Hours: Mon. – Fri., 9am – 3pm (optional extended day care available at an additional cost)
- Early Arrival from 8:15AM – 9AM, $120
- Extended Afternoon from 3PM – 4:30PM, $180
Grades: Rising 4th to 7th
In this fast-paced musical theatre-focused camp, youth will learn legendary songs and dances from some of the greatest Broadway musicals. Campers will practice their musical theatre skills during each active day of Broadway Blast as they prepare to share what they’ve learned in their final shared performance. No audition necessary to be a Broadway star this summer! Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.

Hours: Mon. – Fri., 9am – 3pm (optional extended day care available at an additional cost)

Focus In Film Camp (Code 129)

July 10 – July 21, 2023 in-person at SPARC (2106 N. Hamilton St., Richmond, VA 23230)
Hours: Mon. – Fri., 9AM to 3PM
Grades: Rising 6th to 8th
Step onto the red carpet for two weeks and learn more about the art of film from both sides of the camera! Students will gain hands-on experience in on-screen acting, camera work, and editing for movies and television and will even create independent projects featuring their own ideas. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.

SPARCLERS Mini Session 3 (Code 126)

July 10 – July 14, 2023 in-person at Bon Air United Methodist Church (1645 Buford Rd, Richmond, VA 23235)
Hours: 9am – 12:30pm.
Ages: 4 – 5. If your camper will be 6 years old by the first day of camp, you may enroll them in SPARCLERS.
Theme: Around the World
Our world is full of different types of people but deep down we are all the same. Have you ever wondered about other people’s cultures and traditions? As a young citizen of the world, you will learn more about these things through song, dance and creative play. You’ll be able to show off your performing arts skills with the special people in your life during your end-of-week final share. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.

SPARCLERS Session 5 (Code 125)

Theme: Pure Imagination
Ever wanted to go on an exciting journey where anything can happen? Step into a world of sweets and wonder in this imaginative camp. Explore what it means to make bold choices and discover what’s waiting for you beyond your own imagination. You’re sure to discover what you truly wish to be during this week of performing some of your favorite songs, dances, and creative arts! Grab your golden ticket and show the other dreamers what you learned by sharing your final performance the last day of camp. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.

OUT Loud (Code 130)

July 17 – July 21, 2023 in-person at SPARC (2106 N. Hamilton St., Richmond, VA 23230)

- Early Arrival: 8:15am – 9am (Mon – Fri) $60
- Extended Day: 3pm – 4:30pm (Mon – Fri) $90
Grades: Rising 8th through Rising 12th
Embrace your role in the LGBTQ+ community through this performing arts camp exclusively for LGBTQ+ identifying youth. This theatre arts camp is the only one of its kind in the area. During your week, you will learn and use the performing arts to devise your own original piece of theatre to be presented at the end of the week for friends, family, and other community members. Through song, dance, and storytelling you will be able to tell your own unique stories and share your experiences as you grow as a theatre artist and LGBTQ+ community member. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.

Do you love animals or want a pet for your own? Learn about what it means to be a friend to animals, even humans, during this week full of songs, dance, and crafts. Use your new performing arts skills to explore different types of animals and pets you find in your city and around the world. Show off your friendships skills and care for all animals on the last day of camp in your final share for friends and family. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.

Theme: Worlds Beyond
In a galaxy far, far away or on a moon that is only accessible through an avatar you are the hero of the story in this performing arts camp. Your journey will use storytelling, song, and dance to tell the story of your incredible adventures. Weather flying on a banshee or commanding a star fighter, your skills will be honed for victory by the end of the week. Share your new skill and bravery at your final performance for friends and family. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.
