Location: In person at SPARC

Grades: 1st to 4th

All levels of experience are welcome! Teachers in this class will work with youth at all levels of experience to help them reach their goals.

This collaborative, creative class is the perfect fit for young people with big ideas! Led by their teachers playing in-role beside them, students develop characters and embark on a new adventure in every class guided by their imaginations. This class builds theatrical skills like characterization, improvisation, and storytelling, as well as transferable skills like decision-making, teamwork, and mutual respect. Students will also learn elements of story structure and how to create a plot with multiple characters, conflict, and resolution. At the end of this course, students will share some of their favorite activities and adventures with a small audience of friends and family. Each course is a new discovery in creativity. As such, your child can take this course multiple times and learn something new each session.

Showstoppers Jr. Saturday Session 4th-5th Grade (Code 111)

Grades: 4th and 5th Grade

Showstoppers Jr. is a semester-long program for young people who are ready to commit to a rehearsal and performance process without the stress of an audition. Students in this class will meet for an hour and thirty minutes once a week. During that time, the cast of Showstoppers Jr. will learn skills like audition preparation, rehearsal etiquette, collaboration, and – of course – they’ll learn their show! 

This spring, Showstoppers Jr. presents Alice in Wonderland.

All levels of experience are welcome! Teachers in this class will work with youth at all levels of experience to help them reach their goals.

Song and dance are front and center in Musical Theatre Explorations! Children who love to belt tunes in the car or follow along with the latest online dance trends will love this class. Young people will get new perspectives on songs from their favorite musicals and movies when they are paired with teaching artists’ original choreography. Students will also gain experience in acting by working with a script and learning popular improv games.

In addition to expanding confidence in musical theatre, students will also practice multi-tasking, taking artistic risks, and memorization. Teamwork is also emphasized as students learn how to work as an ensemble. At the end of this course, youth will share musical theatre songs for a small audience of friends and family. No two semesters are the same, and students often enjoy taking this course more than once!

All levels of experience are welcome! Teachers in this class will work with youth at all levels of experience to help them reach their goals.

Youth who have a strong interest in Broadway dance will love this new class! Over the semester, young people will learn and practice various dance styles to build their confidence and experience in musical theatre. 

In Dance Explorations, each young person will develop an understanding of the healthy habits that build and sustain a dancer's practice. The class will learn stretching and warm-up techniques and understand basic choreographic terms and concepts as they rehearse. In practicing dance, youth will build skills like conveying emotion through movement, building endurance and coordination, functioning as an ensemble, and retaining patterns of choreography over time. At the end of the semester, the youth will perform what they have learned for a small audience of friends and family through an in-class final share.

Bravo Jr. Session 1 (Code 123)

  • Extended Afternoon from 3PM to 4:30PM, $210

Extended afternoons are not offered on the last day of camp. Youth will go home with trusted adults after their final sharing performance.

Grades: Rising 4th and 5th

Campers will explore the performing arts through theatrical techniques, song, dance, visual art, and so much more, all while crafting an original production using innovative, original ideas. Exciting camp experiences like theme days and guest artists make Bravo Jr. an unforgettable experience! Friends and family will be excited to share in your success by watching your final share.

Campers are welcome to enroll in Bravo Jr. session 2, but it’s important to note that the Bravo Jr. curriculum from session 1 will repeat in session 2.

Step onto the red carpet for one week and learn more about the art of film from both sides of the camera! Students will gain hands-on experience in on-screen acting, camera work, and editing for movies and television and will even create independent projects featuring their own ideas.

Find out what it means to make new friendships and discover new eras along the way! Step into a world filled with music and friendship in this imaginative camp. You’re sure to make some great music and friends during this week performing favorite songs, dances, and creative arts! Grab your friendship bracelets and show everyone what you learned by sharing your final performance on the last day of camp.
