In-person Summer Camps

Bravo Jr. Session 1 (Code 123)

June 12 – June 23, 2023 (NO CAMP June 19) in-person at Derbyshire Baptist Church (8800 Derbyshire Rd, Richmond, VA 23229)
Hours: Mon. – Fri., 9AM to 3PM (optional extended day available at an additional cost)
- Early Arrival from 8:15AM to 9AM, $108
- Extended Afternoon from 3PM to 4:30PM, $162
Grades: Rising 4th and 5th
Campers will explore the performing arts through theatrical techniques, song, dance, visual art, and so much more, all while crafting an original production using innovative, original ideas. Exciting camp experiences like theme days and guest artists make Bravo Jr. an unforgettable experience! Friends and family will be excited to share in your success by watching your final share. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.
Campers are welcome to enroll in Bravo Jr. session 2, but it’s important to note that the Bravo Jr. curriculum from session 1 will repeat in session 2.

Backstage Camp (Code 250)

June 20 - June 23, 2023 (NO CAMP June 19) in-person at SPARC (2106 N Hamilton St, Richmond, VA 23230)
Hours: Tues. - Fri., 9AM to 3PM
Grades: Rising 4th to 7th
SPARC’s Backstage Camp is a great choice for young people who love to build new things, bring their ideas to life, and get a messy along the way. Learn important skills that designers and technicians need for staging theatrical productions, like painting, making props, stage management, costuming, and more.
Students who are interested in learning more about technical theatre are encouraged to participate! No prior skills or experience are necessary.

Bravo Session 1 (Code 122)

June 20 – June 30, 2023 (NO CAMP June 19) in-person at The Steward School (11600 Gayton Road, Richmond, VA 23238)
Hours: Mon. – Fri., 9AM to 3PM (optional extended day available at an additional cost)
- Early Arrival from 8:15AM to 9AM, $108
- Extended Afternoon from 3PM to 4:30PM, $162
Grades: Rising 6th to 8th
During this camp, each day is filled with engaging performing arts activities such as acting workshops, musical theatre training, audition skill building, creative movement, and artistic collaborations. Each week of camp include opportunities to share your creativity as well as an original musical theatre production at the end of camp. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.
Campers are welcome to enroll in Bravo session 2, but it’s important to note that the Bravo curriculum from session 1 will repeat in session 2.

In this fast-paced musical theatre-focused camp, youth will learn legendary songs and dances from some of the greatest Broadway musicals. Campers will practice their musical theatre skills during each active day of Broadway Blast as they prepare to share what they’ve learned in their final shared performance. No audition necessary to be a Broadway star this summer! Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear during their final performance and to remember their time at camp.
