Get to know SPARC through one of our free Pop-Up classes! Pop-Ups provide an easy opportunity to learn more about what we do in longer-term SPARC classes.

Pop-Ups are one-time workshops offering an hour of exploration through different theatrical lessons. Topics may include storytelling, dance, singing, improv games, knowledge-building theatre exercises, and more. Pop-Ups are also a great way for young people to connect with new friends who share an interest in performing arts. SPARC faculty and staff will be available after Pop-Ups to offer information about upcoming classes and opportunities for students to get involved.

June 3 – June 7, 2024 in-person at Epiphany Lutheran Church (1400 Horsepen Rd, Richmond, VA 23226)

Hours: 9am – 3pm (optional extended day care available at an additional cost)

Theme: Wish Upon a Star 

Ever wished upon a star? Many of your favorite characters from popular television shows and movies have in order to get their wishes. Discover what awaits you, using storytelling, singing, and dancing. Find out how to make your dreams come true while using your creativity and teamwork to tell those stories. What will you discover in the sky? Invite your friends and family beyond the second star to the right at the end of the week for your final share.

Rock out with your friends this summer and get the band back together! Step into a world filled with music and trolls in this imaginative camp. Explore what it means to be a part of the band and discover what’s waiting for you beyond your own imagination. You’re sure to make some great music and friends during this week performing some of your favorite songs, dances, and creative arts! Grab your guitar and show everyone what you learned by sharing your final performance on the last day of camp.

Your journey will use storytelling, song, and dance to tell the story of your incredible adventures. Whether meeting mythical creatures or discovering new treasures, your skills will be honed for victory by the end of the week. Share your new skills and bravery at your final performance for friends and family.

*The last day of camp, August 9, will take place at Henrico Theater (305 E Nine Mile Rd, Highland Springs, VA 23075) so youth have time to rehearse and prepare for their final sharing performance at the theater that night.

Final sharing performances occur the evening of the last day of camp – Friday, August 9, at Henrico Theatre (305 E. Nine Mile Road Henrico, VA 23075).

August Adventure Jr. 2024 Presents Finding Nemo KIDS!

Disney’s Finding Nemo KIDS is a musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by the award-winning songwriting team behind Frozen. Finding Nemo KIDS brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. When Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.
