Presence for Stand-Up Performance 

Saturday, April 12 11AM to 12:30PM

This workshop is a great choice for students who are looking to improve their overall stage presence, and especially those who are interested in comedy! In this one-time class, we'll work on joke delivery, getting comfortable using a microphone and the importance of pauses, inflection, and volume when performing. The workshop will meet in SPARC’s theater, so students can practice these skills on stage!

Creative Drama: Sing!

(Saturday, May 3rd 9AM to 9:45AM)

This is a dynamic introduction to the art of vocal performance. This class focuses on nurturing young children’s natural musicality, creativity, and self-expression through song. This lesson blends vocal technique, rhythm, and melody with fun, interactive exercises to develop pitch, tone, and breath control. Students will explore a variety of musical styles, from favorite popular songs to playful vocal warm-ups, while building confidence in their unique voices.   

Creative Drama: Act!

(Tuesday, May 6th 4PM to 4:45PM)

This is a fun and engaging way for young children to explore the world of performance. This class encourages creativity, imagination, and self-expression through the art of acting. This lesson focuses on developing essential acting skills such as projection and emotional expression, all through playful and interactive activities. Alongside honing their acting techniques, students will gain confidence, enhance their communication skills, and learn the value of collaboration with their peers. Through this class, young actors will discover the excitement of stepping into different characters and performing in a supportive, creative environment.   

Creative Drama: Dance!

Tuesday, May 13 4PM to 4:45PM

This is an exciting introduction to the world of movement and expression. This class is designed to inspire each student's natural sense of rhythm, creativity, and body awareness. This lesson combines foundational dance techniques with fun, energetic exercises that explore balance, coordination, and flexibility. Alongside building physical skills, the class emphasizes confidence, self-expression, and teamwork.

Theatre Olympic Games: Get ready for a fun-filled, high-energy theatre experience in this one-time class! In the Theatre Olympic Games, we’ll dive into many beloved improv and theatre games—designed to challenge your creativity, quick thinking, and teamwork. Whether you're a seasoned performer or a first timer, this class is all about having fun and working together as a team to rack up points. 

Compete for your team: You'll be split into teams, and each game will give you the chance to earn points. The team with the most points at the end of our showdown will be our Theatre Olympic Games Champions! 

More than one way to gold: In this challenge, showing good sportsmanship and supporting your team is just as important as winning points from the games. To recognize this important work, additional points will be awarded to a students' teams when they demonstrate good teamwork. 

No matter how you score, this class is about celebrating creativity, collaboration, and the joy of performance.

This workshop combines the energy of jazz and musical theatre dance, offering a dynamic class suitable for all experience levels. Set to the music of DreamWorks’ Trolls, students will have the opportunity to stretch their abilities through warm-ups, across the floor exercises, and a fun choreographed combination. Build confidence, enhance your technique, and get ready for an exciting, high-energy class!  

 

Dance It Out: My Favorite Things

(Wednesday, May 7th 5PM to 6PM)

 

This workshop offers students an opportunity to explore the intersection between ballet and musical theatre dance. No prior dance experience is needed—whether you’re just starting out or have a background in musical theatre or ballet, this class is designed to support all levels. Students will work through center barre, across the floor exercises, and a combination from the beloved Sound of Music, all while developing their technical skills and storytelling abilities.

Set to music from the iconic musical and movie, students will have the opportunity to stretch their abilities through warm-ups, across the floor exercises, and a choreographed combination. Build confidence, enhance your technique, and get ready for an exciting, high-energy class!       

Dance It Out: Hadestown

(Tuesday, May 13th 5:15PM to 6:45PM)

This workshop offers students an opportunity to explore the intersection between ballet and musical theatre dance. No prior dance experience is needed—whether you’re just starting out or have a background in musical theatre or ballet, this class is designed to support all levels. Students will work through center barre, across the floor exercises, and a combination to “Flowers” from the Tony Award winning Hadestown, all while developing their technical skills and storytelling abilities.
